New Fixed Wireless coverage area in Kenosha Wisconsin
CyberLynk has just completed the installation of our sixth Broadband Fixed Wireless cell site. This new location gives us coverage of Kenosha and part of Illinois. The new site is located on the WIIL radio station tower near Hwy 50 and Hwy 31 In Pleasant Prairie. With a vantagepoint at the 300' point on the 400' tower, we will be able to provide service into downtown Kenosha as well as West of I-94. (This puts us at 1,000' AMSL)This installation is very unique in that we have no coax or data cables leaving the tower. All equipment is mounted on the tower. A 20Mbps microwave link to our wired POP less that .5 miles to the North provides the connection to our wired network. We have also deployed both 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz equipment in the same installation. This site will be a test location for some newer broadband technologies. This project has been in the works for almost a year now, and we have dozens of customers already committed to installations of our 256kbps and 1.5mbps burstable wireless service.
